Responsible Tourism Awards 2010

Our team of fact finders are almost done with site visits to all of the finalists' properties. They have worked hard to verify and document best practices of each finalists. Read all about it at WARTA News.

Winners will be announced on 21 October 2010, during the Responsible Tourism Awards ceremony held in association with ITB Asia Trade Show in Singapore, which runs from 20 - 22 October 2010. Together with the Awards, a Responsible Tourism forum and networking session is planned. Come and be inspired by leading sustainable tourism practitioners!

Biodiversity for Busy Managers Workshop

The next Biodiversity for Busy Managers training workshop is happening on 22 - 23 September 2010 at Parkcity Everly Hotel, Miri, Sarawak. The workshop will highlight issues in plantation management and provide a platform for discussions to take place. More.

Wild Asia Heroes: Tijah Yok Chopil

Wild Asia nominates Tijah Yok Chopil, an indigenous woman of the Semai tribe as our fourth Wild Asia Hero. Tijah has devoted her life to empowering and uniting the once-scattered Orang Asli's of Peninsular Malaysia. Her dedication led to the historic 3,000-strong protest at Putrajaya in March this year. Jules Ong is honoured to meet this formidable woman at her village in Bidor, Perak.
