Technical Officers (West Malaysia and Sabah)

Wild Asia is looking for motivated individuals who will be able to manage the technical support services that Wild Asia provides to our partners. The technical support includes agronomic, social, environmental or HCV assessments (and other technical assessments) and coordinating other specialist inputs as required by our partners. Experience with the RSPO (or related Standards) is useful but not necessary.

What are we looking for? Someone with good leadership skills, is confident and able to create good rapport with managers and executives in plantation companies. The person should have a strong technical background (qualification or experience) in a relevant and related discipline (e.g., to be able to conduct for example either agronomic, social, environmental or HCV assessments). Technical management skills will be an advantage to organize meetings, coordinate activities, and conduct focus-group meetings. Above all, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude; is proactive and is able to problem solve independently.

 

Field Project Coordinators (West Malaysia and Sabah)

Wild Asia has embarked on an exciting new challenge to create groups of small producers to meet the RSPO standards. We are looking for suitably motivated individuals that are able to coordinate specific field projects in West Malaysia (Perak, Johor) and in Sabah (Beluran, Kinabatangan). What are we looking for? Someone with a good leadership skills, confident and able to create good rapport with local people (usually Malay or even Chinese; but often you will be required to interact in English and local languages). The person should have good management skills as will be required to organize meetings, coordinate activities, conduct focus-group meetings and facilitate communication within local networks. A degree is not really needed but having relevant qualifications or experience will be an advantage (palm plantations, agronomy, social or environmental sciences). Experience with the RSPO (or related Standards) is useful but not necessary. Above all, we are looking for someone with a positive attitude; is proactive and is able to problem solve independently.

 

Technical Assistant (Taiwan)

Wild Asia is on the look out for a motivated and independent assistant to be able to translate between English-Chinese, has a background in social or environmental work, and has an interest in influencing responsible sourcing of natural products (like rubber, timber and palm oil). He/She would ideally be based in Taiwan, but we would also be open to explore those living within the same time-zone!
