Track our Trees

Unique to Wild Asia's Plant-a-Tree Programme is our interest to track the trees that have been planted. Many of these trees have been planted on land cared for by our Tree Hosts. Since we forge a written partnership with a tree host, you can be assured that there is a strong commitment towards nurturing these young trees. Track your trees here and find out how well they've grown!

Since 1998, when Plant-a-Tree was first created, we have organized a number of tree planting events to support our efforts and to encourage landowners to give something back to nature. By the end of 2009, we had secured 3 tree hosts; organized 7 tree-planting events and planted 809 trees. This amounts to 1.75 ha of trees and an estimated 202.25 tonnes of total carbon that will be absorbed by the trees in the coming years.

Our aim is to continue to provide annual updates on all trees planted. It is a fun day out to count trees, talk to our tree hosts and learn how we can do better. We are obviously not over-idealistic; we know there will be some tree mortalities. It is nature after all!

Where are our trees planted?

Our trees are planted in Malaysia. The map below gives you an idea of where they are and a small summary about why they were chosen.

Ladang Tanah Merah, Negri Sembilan

Tanah Merah was one of our first pilot projects, where we worked with the plantation to develop an action plan for conservation. Part of this was the creation of a natural corridor across the estate to link an isolated forest patch to the mangroves. It was also the site where we piloted our Plant-a-Tree Programme to involve the local community.
