The ceremony
Congratulations to our winners! To select the winners, all the finalists were assessed by Wild Asia's expert team who went through the RT Checklists, talked to staff, guests and locals in the surrounding area in order to gain a thorough understanding of the business and how it is run.
The award ceremony in 2007 was held in Phuket (Thailand) at the Evason Phuket and Six Senses Spa on the 13-15th of November 2007. In conjunction with the annual awards, a special Responsible Tourism Seminar was also held. The seminar brought some insights into the issues, best practices and initiatives from around the world that could help towards raising the awareness and role of the private sector in sustainable tourism. We see this as the first step towards engaging the wider stakeholders working towards sustainable development goals.
