Who are the heroes in your community? Who do you think deserves recognition and support for their work? Wild Asia Heroes is a new project to give back to the community. We want to give recognition to ordinary people who are making a real difference protecting the environment and empowering communities to live sustainably.

Wild Asia invites you to nominate your own heroes. And every other month Wild Asia will highlight the story of an unsung hero of your choice. Throughout the year, we will present four local stories of inspiration in Malaysia. Next year, we will open up the nominations to heroes in the entire Asian region.

We hope this project will serve as inspiration and generate creative ideas to protect the environment and empower communities. Furthermore, the publicity generated from this project will help these unsung Heroes get the recognition and the support they truly deserve.

I think that this type of award or recognition deserves support and encouragement..perhaps the promotion can be stepped up at the local colleges and universities levels for students interested in issues related to the preservation of endangered wildlife, fauna and flora or cultural rituals..which requires historical documentation and preservation..thanks
