Green Office was first initiated in 2010 in partnership with Malaysian Airlines. Working closely with Malaysian Airlines, we have helped them established their Green Journey blog as well as conducted audits at their headquarters in Kelana Jaya. We are continuously looking for corporate partners to expand the initiative.
The Wild Asia Green Office is dedicated to helping you create a sustainable office environment. This initiative will facilitate greater awareness of the impact daily work practices have on the environment, and encourage environmentally friendly alternatives. We aim to provide organisations with the tools to assess and monitor their use of resources. This involves engaging staff at all levels to apply environmental best practices in their daily operations.
Our approach
Throughout the programme we will focus on understanding the organization and its capacity. That way, with our guidance, policies and processes that are eventually put in place will be self-generated by the particular organisation.
This is because green programmes rarely produce meaningful results if the staff and management do not believe in them. So we aim to guide you towards adopting practices that suit your specific needs and operating environment.
A typical process
The process begins with a basic checklist detailing energy, waste and water consumption and some basic questions about internal environmental policy.
Having reviewed the results Wild Asia will then conduct a 1/2 day training session at your workplace where department heads and building/maintenance managers will be introduced to the programme and taken through a series of exercises. These include a visit around the premises to identify the best ways to develop policy. The overall aim of the training session is to encourage management to start thinking about the environmental impacts of the workplace.
After that, we'll provide you with a more detailed self-assessment checklist, which gathers specific information about work practices and building management, as they relate to the environment. Having taken a snapshot of current policies and impact, a meeting will be set up with the Wild Asia Green Office to review data, and discuss the best ways to draw up policies aimed at reducing resource use and waste.
Your organisation creates these policies internally, with guidance and support from Wild Asia's staff. Our staff will ensure that these are based on solid fundamentals both in ecological and motivational terms.
Once policies have been implemented, organisations must continue to monitor their effects closely, both through informal observations, attitude surveys and through specific data collection such as waste levels and energy use.
Six months after implementation Wild Asia will conduct a short review session to discuss possible changes to policy.

Where Does Your Paper Come from...?
Quick facts: Using FSC-certified paper requires that wood products be responsibly and sustainably handled from the forest where they were harvested to the pulp purchased by the paper mill and to the printer that manufactures the end project.
By using FSC-certified paper, you are supporting a range of sustainable benefits, such as reducing waste to landfills and ensuring that paper pulp is not harvested from endangered rainforest timber.
Lookout for FSC logos or endorsement the next time you purchase paper for your office. Companies like Imprint and Antalis are some of the places you can purchase FSC paper in Malaysia.
"FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests." - Forest Stewardship Council.
