Responsible Tourism Forum and Networking Session at ITB Asia 2010

This year's Responsible Tourism Awards ceremony will be held in association with ITB Asia Trade Show in Singapore. Accompanying the Awards is a Responsible Tourism Forum and Networking session. Come and be inspired by leading sustainable tourism practitioners!

The Responsible Tourism forum and networking will be organised in association with ITB Asia 2010, at Suntec City Convention Center, Singapore on 21st October, 2010. The Responsible Tourism forum and networking session is a continuation of the successful RT networking held last year. Co-organized by ITB Asia, Wild Asia and The Green Circuit, the event hopes to bring together sustainable tourism practitioners to share, engage, learn and be inspired to make a difference.

The forum and networking sessions will feature experts in responsible tourism, green entrepreneurs, travel journalists and many others. The aim is to promote and raise the awareness of responsible tourism across the industry with a primary focus on Asia. In conjunction with the event, winners of the Wild Asia's 5th Responsible Tourism Awards (RTA) will be revealed.

The Responsible Tourism (RT) forum and networking event will cover topics such as:

  • Tourism and Sustainability - Big issues surrounding tourism and linkages between the sustainability of destinations and travel business.
  • RT Experiences from Destinations - Successful RT case studies from operators around Asia.
  • RT from a Sustainable Design Perspective - Advocating responsible tourism by building capacity for sustainable design in community-based tourism programs
  • Greening the Supply Chain - Strategies and models for creating sustainable processes throughout the supply chain.
  • Communicating Responsible Tourism - Approaches for effective green marketing; demonstrating credibility and attaining buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Members of the media are also invited to cover the event and Awards ceremony. This is a chance for the media to learn more about responsible tourism from the very people who are practicing it and explore ways to expand create depth to travel writing.

    Strategies and models for creating sustainable processes throughout the supply chain of any travel operator. Looking into main elements that make up the supply chain.
