Take A Picture for Conservation Photo Competition was a big hit to blooming photographers and a sure success. WILD ASIA showcases the best images taken by participants of the competition at our "Plant-a-Tree For The Planet" Tree Party 2009.

Wild Asia's "Take a Picture for Conservation" photo competition was aimed at embodying the exciting happenings of Tree Party 2009 at Kota Damansara Community Forest through the eyes of our visitors. The competition was designed to encourage creativity and originality through photography and to open the spectrum of exploration and discovery through the lens. Details of the competition were as follows:

Location: Kota Damansara Community Forest, Kuala Lumpur

Themes:

  • Nature: Wildlife, Landscapes and Plants.
  • Candid Moments: Varied expressions of people throughout the day (Joy, Exhaustion, Excitement, Disappointment, Satisfaction, Enthusiasm.

Prizes: The Grand Winners, 1st Runner-ups and 2nd Runner-ups were the top prizes awarded.

The Grand Winner Prize was awarded to Wong Lee Ping for her creative image which captured Kota Damansara Community Park's "Simple Beauty of Green".

1st Runner Up

1st Runner Up

The 1st Runner Up Prize went to Wan Cheng Huat's photo of a leaf with a heart on it, described as "Nature's Heart".

2nd Runner Up

2nd Runner Up

Ummi Haslinda won the 2nd Runner Up for her creative image of a "busy bee on purple flowers" at Kota Damansara Community Forest Park.


Candid - Winner & Finalists

(Teen) The Grand Winner Prize went to Yang Su Lan's photo of Wild Asia's Nature Hunt with the caption "Sharing is Loving".

Grand Winner

(Adult) Wan Cheng Huat's photo won the Grand Winner Prize for his creative image capturing Father's Day at Kota Damansara Community Forest Park with the caption "One of the best investment a father can give his son. Planting A Tree for Life."

1st Runner Up

1st Runner Up

The 1st Runner Up Prize went to Loong Yik Hoe's photo of visitors enjoying kayaking at the lake. The description was "Back To Nature... Back to Life..."

2nd Runner Up

Nurul Akmal Zorollah's photo won the 2nd Runner Up. (Note: Photo and description - to be announced).
