Why is Wild Asia unique?
Wild Asia is a social enterprise, a legal organisation aiming to inspire and create positive social and environmental change. Unlike charities, we do not depend on donations but derive our income through the services we provide and the products we sell.
It is our technical background and experience from working with real projects that provide us our solid foundation. From here, we are able to dream up new initiatives that actually do make a difference, one step at a time.
Partner our Initiatives
Wild Asia dreams but our partners help make our programmes a reality. Wild Asia's core initiatives are realised through corporate partnerships that support our projects, provide critical funding and help spread our message. Below are some examples of how partnerships have enhanced our projects and where you can fit in.
Responsible Tourism Awards
Since 2003, Wild Asia has been seeking the most inspiring leaders in Asia through our RT Awards, sharing the best of these practices in our workshops and providing guidance where we are needed. The aim of this initiative is to promote sustainable tourism best practices in Asia, demonstrating that there are clear financial incentives for doing the right thing.
Biodiversity for Busy Managers
This new initiative of Wild Asia's aims to develop useful and practical resources for those on the frontline of land development. The idea is to inspire and guide managers and planners to address and tackle key biodiversity issues that apply to land developers.
Plant-a-Tree
Initiated in 2008, Wild Asia's Plant-A-Tree programme aims to go beyond tree planting. We created this programme to support our efforts to build natural corridors on private land and discovered that planting indigenous trees can create wider benefits: enhancing wild, natural spaces, providing education on the environment, engaging communities, and supporting other social enterprises.
Partnerships to Give Back
As a social enterprise, we earn our income through advisory work, training and other services, but we also ensure that we give back. What we do is channel money back to initiatives that help conserve the earth and the communities that depend on its natural resources. Help us do more with our initiatives that aim to "give back" and your support can help us extend our reach and maximise our results.
Help us find Wild Asia Heroes
We have a new series starting 2010 to honour unsung heroes who are working to conserve the environment and empower communities. We want you to nominate your Heroes, so that they can be given due recognition for their work. We are looking to have an annual award to reward the Ultimate Wild Asia Hero - the outstanding individual or community that embodies the Wild Asia spirit, and the initiative that has the most positive impact on the community or the environment.
Support a cause
Buy Wild Asia merchandise and the proceeds will go to supporting worthy causes run by Wild Asia and others. If you have a cause that needs our help we will be happy to add your merchandise to our shop. Or you can even be a vendor for our products. Any cause that is related to Wild Asia's vision is a valid cause!
Who are our Partners?
Over the years we have been able to extend our work by the support of a number of organisations. A big thank you to all those nameless individuals, and to some of our more recent supporters who are included below.
Thank You!
In January 2010, Wild Asia launched its corporate engagement policy. Wild Asia is keen to work with corporations that are willing to support the creation of a natural, healthy, and just environment for its workers and the communities where they do business in. Wild Asia will work with companies that can demonstrate commitment towards global sustainability principles, and are already or willing to work with Wild Asia on internal sustainability projects.

I was made first aware of the work by Wild Asia (I believe at the time the website was called wildasia.net) around 8 years ago through a close friend of mine in Malaysia. Today I read an article on Malaysian from Sharyn posted on Facebook by another friend, and get connected back to Wild Asia again. Very impressed with the progress the organisation has made. Hope we can help reach out to your audience in the UK too. We will be happy to provide a link to Wild Asia on our company's website if you have no objection. And you are welcome to contact me if you have other suggestions.
Warm regards,
Sophie Lee
