Rethinking travel and destinations

Paving the way for responsible tourism

Tourism is a lucrative business, yet the industry is taking its toll on the environment and contributes to the exploitation of local communities, natural resources and wildlife. Responsible Tourism aims to reduce this potentially disastrous trend by promoting sustainable management practices.

Responsible Tourism is about businesses taking the lead, investing time and resources to protect the environment and to live in harmony with the local communities they are operating in.

Since 2006, Wild Asia has been seeking out the most inspiring leaders in Asia through our Responsible Tourism Awards, sharing the best of these practices with our Leaders in Destinations and where it is needed, offering guidance to tourism operators across Asia. Get help and be inspired by exemplary tourism operators located around Asia in our Map of Hope.
