Malaysian small farmers, also known as smallholders, can now be independently certified under the RSPO Certification System. Wild Asia, together with our partners, have worked to get the first Malaysian group certified. The groups certificate was officially released on 6th September 2013.
This group is the first of its kind in Malaysia and the model that Wild Asia has developed is designed to be adaptable to different supply chains around the world. Wild Asia is actively testing out this model across Malaysia and is looking at ways to take this to new producing countries, such as Africa and Thailand where small farmers are a big part of the supply chain.
