Gorgeous rural areas are the hallmark of tourism in Asia. Unfortunately, the tourism boom has taken its toll on our environment. As it stands, tour operators in Asia constantly run the risk of contributing to the exploitation of local communities, natural resources and wildlife.
Responsible Tourism is about encouraging businesses to take the lead; invest time and resources to protect the environment and live harmoniously with the local communities living in the area they operate from. Wild Asia does this by promoting management practices and alternative green solutions that help keep destinations intact without compromising on guests' experience.
Through the Responsible Tourism Awards, Wild Asia identifies role models who have adopted these practices so that other tour operators can learn from them. The best of these practices are then shared at our Leaders In Destinations Training Series which offer guidance to tourism operators across Asia. Find out how we can help and check out exemplary tourism operators around Asia in our Map of Hope.
