Wild Asia is always looking to expand its team to do more in areas we think are important. Wild Asia is looking for team players who are confident, trustworthy, passionate and able to communicate effectively in a dynamic working environment. We are open to consider both part-time or full-time help. Contact us to explore how you can be part of our team.

As of January 2010

Office Support: We are looking for a young, dynamic individual who can work independently and interest in Wild Asia-values: people, nature, environment. This could be a full-time or part-timer position. Ideally you will be meticulous, able to communicate confidently and are able to support our team.

Programme Manager: We are looking for an innovative leader to kick start a new project that will look at assisting smallholders in oil palm cultivation to be organised to produce crops within RSPO guidelines. We are anticipating that the pilot site to be in Sarawak but there will be an extended placement in KL or Kuching. What skills you will need? Confident to provide training in Malay (or Iban), management skills, ability to understand the multi-dimensions of RSPO that span production issues, environmental and social concerns. A planter who is looking for a change in their career direction would be suitable or an experienced scheme manager for fair-trade, organic or other schemes.

We are also scouting out for:

1. Design to New Media: We are looking for that bright spark that has a good eye for design and is able to work in new media - from web to video. Programming skills in CSS, Java, Cold Fusion or Google API might be an added advantage. We see the need to explore new ways to push our message in print, video & online. So if you are creative and love to work on challenging themes we want to hear from you.

2. Passionate about trees: We are looking for someone with an interest in trees to help us develop our "natural corridor" work. We fare keen on someone with not only the field skills but someone able to communicate his passion.

3. Educating "Green": We want to work with someone with experiences in training or education and have an deep interest in the environment, people or the natural world. This is part of our dream of expanding our "green initiatives" to reach out to children and adults.

4. "Green" Retail: We believe there is a market out there for "green" products: products that have great design, adopt cradle-cradle approaches or are simply good businesses that create a positive impact on people & communities. We are keen to work with a savvy retailer or marketeer to make WA a hub for this to happen in Asia. Keen?

Greetings,

Im happy to see that there are 'soldiers' out there defending our natural treasures, animals or their habitats. Most people of the public are still not aware that our very survival as a species relies on the health of mother nature. I am passionate about being apart of your efforts (full time)and I have so much to offer. I am a Psychology graduate, with the neccessary skills for training, education, creativity and so much more. I am also an amateur photographer. My target is to give a 'voice' to the animals and habitats that are in danger from the recklessness of humans. If you 'guys' have use for someone like me, do drop me an email. Keep up the good work. Kudos!!

We are a group of CP enthusiats based in Malaysia with the purpose of promoting the cultivation and conservation of carnivorous plants. We have a website and forum where we have about 650 members at the moment. Members are mainly from Malaysia and Asia.

I would like to explore areas where we can work together with Wild Asia on censervation, particularly on the conservation of Nepenthes, Utricularia and Drosera in Malaysia.

It saddens me that though my country is the center of distribution for the largest carnivorous plant in the world, the species Nepenthes... awareness, knowledge and conservation on them is so lacking.

Hey David - did not know a "carnivorous plant community" existed. We might be thinking of a photo exhibition featuring Nepenthes pics in March...maybe you guys could help promote that or come along to that. Its still in the planning pipeline. Feel free to also contribute any articles to WA it will be useful to share.
